Once each boss is eliminated, the next one will spawn, along with the warriors they command.

Independent games studio Grinding Gear Games today announced Path of Exile, a free-to-play PC online action Role-Playing Game (RPG) set in a dark fantasy world. The game will be available in early 2011.

Playing as one of six character classes, players find themselves banished for their past misdeeds to the dark fantasy world of Wraeclast. There, they will encounter hundreds of species of opponents laden with loot and mysterious artefacts as they explore the abandoned continent.

Players will be able to purchase in-game perks, such as extra victory animations, clothing and special effects. To protect the integrity of the game for all players, Grinding Gear Games has decided not to sell abilities or experience points – ensuring a level-playing field for everyone in game.

“We listened to the fan communities of several popular online action RPGs as we designed Path of Exile and are focused on replayability, depth and accessibility,” said Chris Wilson, Grinding Gear Games’ Founder. “We’ve designed the game that we would want to play ourselves, and we know hardcore Diablo, Titan Quest and Dungeon Siege players will find the style familiar and addictive.”

Leading online game publisher, GamesCampus.com, unveiled today further storyline details for its upcoming free-to-play, massively multiplayer online role playing game (MMORPG), Legend of Edda. Based on the Greek mythological conflict between the Gods of the Olympus and the Titans, Legend of Edda takes players on a journey through a dynamic storyline divided into five unique chapters based on the conflict of two opposing factions. Players will pledge their allegiance to Olympus or Titan from the beginning -- prior to character creation -- which will play a large role in upcoming PVP and RVR battles.

Taking place after the great war of the Olympians and Titans, known as the Heroic Age, Zeus, the god of all gods, overthrew Cronus and the other titans and banished them to the deepest part of the underworld, Tartatus. Heroes lived among the humans but unlike them, they were descendants of gods. To seek vengeance on the Olympians, the Titans approached the heroes to overthrow Zeus and to take over Olympus. As a result, the Titans would honor the heroes with great powers equal to their own. In defense, the Olympians approached the heroes to defend them, and as a reward, they were promised immortality. Now, players taking on the role of the heroes have to choose to either side with the Titans or fighting for the Olympians.

Once a user tames a wild creature, they can raise it through three distinct evolutions and use their pet to fulfill a multitude of support roles ranging from healer to tanker, damage dealer to crowd controller, or even de-buffer!

Epic 7 introduces an all new Creature Enhancement System, to provide players with an entirely new way to upgrade Rappelz’s legendary combat pets. By combining two tamed creature pets of the same type, it is possible to generate a much stronger creature. Once your pet is upgraded, users will get to experience increased stats, additional item slots, additional job points, new skills, and a brand new look.

In addition to the new Creature Enhancement System, Rappelz will also be introducing a new pet like no other: the Death Tyrant. This vengeful spirit is more than just rusty metal. A dignified knight who suffered great injustice before his untimely death, his soul remains as haunted suit of armor. Filled with revenge and spite for those responsible for his demise, the Death Tyrant uses all of his skills to bring down his foes. Able to deal significant damage, the Death Tyrant can decay the flesh of his enemies, turning their skin into rot, rendering them Undead.

But creatures are not the only ones to benefit from Epic 7; guilds will also be greeted with a number of new changes and features. Guilds leaders will now be able to create ranks for their guild, allowing guild members varying types of access and powers depending on their assigned title. Additionally, new UI features let guild members view all of their dungeon raid information easily.
