The MMO world is fairly similar to its predecessor offline RPGs, it’s all about character growth. Some gamers, regardless of what MMO it is, would want to level up their characters so fast to explore more of the game or feel a sense of achievement. Generally, it’s safe to say that all free MMORPG games have this certain speed in terms of leveling. However, some games have leveling systems that grow characters faster than the others. Below is a shortlist of those MMORPGs with such a fast leveling style.
10. With Your Destiny (WYD)
With Your Destiny has an in-game automated combat system for the lazy gamers. Dubbed “CC (Combat Controller) Mode System,” players can choose from 3 settings: melee, spell and non-combat controls. Turning the CC Mode on enables the character to automatically attack monsters within range or buff and heal. However, players cannot toggle two options at the same time. But still, you can take a really long bath and return to find your character stronger than before.
9. GodsWar Online
You’d expect such a game to fall into obscurity. Instead, GodsWar Online attempts to rise to fame by adding the so-called “AFK System.” As the name implies, players can go AFK while their characters can auto-attack, auto-cast skills, auto-heal and auto-resurrect. It’s the game’s automated interface that makes it a breeze to level up your character. It still doesn’t hide the fact that GodsWar Online is a waste of time though.
8. Magic World Online
Despite the appalling looks of the game, MWO alleviates this by adding a legal bot feature. Suffice to say, MWO is a bot heaven, and the persistent world is almost always filled with nothing but AI monsters and characters. It’s an easy way to level and hunt, and it’s worth mentioning in this top ten.
7. Jade Dynasty (ZX Online / Zhu Xian Online - names vary according to region)
Jade Dynasty, one of Perfect World Entertainment’s lovechildren, has an interface that promotes laziness. Click on the map, and your character starts running to that point. Click on the quest details, and your character proceeds to the location of the NPC or the monster spawn points! Add that lazy interface with the numerous quests, and you’ve got a game that builds up characters in no time.
6. Emil Chronicle Online (ECO)
This MMORPG redefines the word “leeching.” ECO has a so-called “Possession” system that allows characters to literally possess another character’s weapon or armor item. The benefits of being possessed or possessing an item is that you gain experience higher than killing monsters on your own!
5. Ragnarok Online
Ragnarok Online was one of the early proponents of tanking and leeching. Nowadays, it’s so easy to grind and tank novice players and reach level 99 in less than a week. Give or take another week to cap the level for the rebirth job, and reach the third job (implemented in Korean servers only). In addition, Ragnarok Online added more quests that give a ton of exp upon accomplishment. However, speedy leveling requires using overupgraded equips, and a support character at the very least.
The following top four are rated according to relative speed of leveling with the LEAST help from automated systems, grinding or leeching.
4. Runes of Magic
One of the most sought after MMORPGs, Runes of Magic makes its mark as the third placer in this top ten. We’d all love to say how extremely similar this game is to World of Warcraft. Despite such criticism, we can be thankful for the fact that Runes of Magic has also followed Warcraft’s footsteps in terms of quest numbers. There are almost a thousand quests to undertake, so there’s never a grinding moment in the game. Your character would easily cap the level in less than a month just by solo training.
3. Sword of the New World: Granado Espada
Granado Espada gets another spot because of its relative speed of leveling without any automated help. Huge number of quests, the generous exp rewards from monsters, the multi-character system, and easy accessibility of strong skills for mobbing make the game a breeze to run through. If you’re dedicated enough, your characters can reach level 90 in less than two weeks.
2. Grand Chase
Another award goes to Grand Chase for the sheer speed in powerleveling. The dungeons definitely reap huge exp and item rewards. Common item rewards also provide exp modifiers, and certain weekly events give out exp bonuses too. There’s no shortage of quests in the game, thus keeping players busy going through every dungeon and difficulty to reach the next level. Players can relatively reach almost level 50 in just one to two days. That’s only a few levels shy of the level cap!
1. Dragon Saga
The top spot goes to Dragonica! There have been documented events of players reaching the level cap in a very short time. Perhaps one famous instance was an archer/ranger class reaching level 60 in only two to three days (during the 4-day Valentine’s sneak preview event). Now on its open beta stages, more and more players are reaching the level cap in less than 5 days.
