Jade Dynasty has a new expansion named Ascension, and besides including a pet capture system, wants to turn players into real powerful beings. Let’s find out how to ascend.

FreeMMOGamer: Can you introduce yourself and your role on Ascension?

My name is Andrew Brown, Andy for short, and I am the Product Manager for Jade Dynasty. A product manager is responsible for pushing out new content for the assigned product and perhaps tailoring it for specific markets, building the community and prolonging the life cycle of said product.

FreeMMOGamer: The new race in Ascension is called Athan. What is their role in the story?

The Athan are a race of demigods created by the Immortals in the story as a way to stop the humans from reaching the secrets and power of immortality. Prior to this, there were five factions searching for immortality and fighting amongst themselves. Now, you can play on the side of the Immortals against the humans.

FreeMMOGamer: Your’re introducing two new factions. Can you describe them and their major strengths?

Yep, the two factions we are introducing are the Balo warriors and Arden archers. The Balo are skillful warriors and are huge compared to the more elegant Arden. While smaller than the Balo, the Arden archers are no less dangerous and can rain death from afar. The Arden also have the special ability to summon their own pets as well as shape shift.

FreeMMOGamer: Can you describe the new zones?

We’ve basically doubled the amount of content in Jade Dynasty with the new zones. There will be a new starting area for the Athan race as well as new NPCs, quests, monsters, armor and items. One word to describe these new areas is EPIC being twice the size of other areas in Jade Dynasty.

FreeMMOGamer: Can you elaborate on the pet capture system?

Of course. The new pet capture system will allow you to scour a realm and capture the most unique and powerful pets. These pets will be pretty rare and hard to find, so having one will not only help you in battle, but will also make you look good too!

FreeMMOGamer: What is exactly the transformation system? We can transform into creatures, but can you give us some examples of its use?

Transformation gems are purchased with in-game currency. A player obtains a transformation gem from an NPC and can then equip it to gain the ability to transform. Once transformed you will gain certain stat benefits based on what you transformed into. Each transformation gem will clearly indicate in the tooltip what stats are being affected, while you are transformed.
