In a recent Steam community update, Stunlock Studios outlined the way forward and Battlerite’s free-to-play launch.

At first, the developer gave a late 2017 window for Battlerite’s launch, but later Stunlock corrected it and said summer 2017, but not to take that as a definitive, since it could easily change. The reason a launch could still take up to another six months is because the team wants time to “develop our internal processes while expanding Battlerite with new features, content and improvements.”

It’s because of Battlerite’s successful early access phase that Stunlock Studios has the resources to give the game the love it deserves.
