It was a big weekend for Epic Game’s Fortnite Battle Royale. The game reached a new all-time high of 3.4 million concurrent players. As in, 3.4 million players – more people than live in many cities – were playing the game all at once.
Needless to say, Epic’s servers weren’t quite up to the job. The developer has posted a lengthy blog about the hurdles of managing the servers for a game that’s growing rapidly beyond what they ever imagined. They are also open to help, saying that if anyone is up to the task of helping them solve these problems to feel free to drop them an email.
The blog post is quite technical and goes into quite some detail, so check that out if you’re not scared off by such things.
