Fortnite: Battle Royale has been out for about two years now, and in that time, the game’s matchmaking systems have remained mostly unchanged. Meanwhile, players have only gotten better and better and better at the game (and made millions of dollars in the process).

To help provide an even playing field for all players, even the ones who can’t remember out which button shoots and which jumps, Epic will be enhancing the matchmaking protocols in the v10.40 update. To help even further, the game will also be receiving bots. Low-skill brackets will see them more often, and they’ll gradually be phased out as you get more and more skilled, and they won’t be available at all in Competitive Playlists.
