There’s really not much in the way of details on the breadth of this news yet, and it could pertain to both free-to-play and buy-to-play titles alike. This would, of course, include both of Funcom’s Age of Conan and Conan Exiles, which are respectively free-to-play and buy-to-play. The developedr announced this week that they’d be setting up a new company, Heroic Signatures, to manage the IPs associated with Robert E. Howard, the author of the Conan stories.
The Conan IP isn’t Howard’s only one, though. There are 29 total, including Solomon Kane, Mutant Chronicles. Heroic Signatures will also oversee making these licenses available to 3rd party developers, and Funcom has acquired a 10.6 million investment to help in that endeavor.
