With the release of Hearthstone’s latest expansion, Journey to Un’Goro, the Year of the Mammoth is upon us.
The new expansion is in, and Blackrock Mountain, The Grand Tournament, and League of Explorers are all out and moved to wild. Also moved to wild are a few of the game’s classic cards, Ragnaros, Sylvanas, Azure Drake, Ice Lance, Power Overwhelming, and Conceal. Journey to Un’Goro adds 135 some-odd cards, so the total pool of cards for Standard will seem fairly slim for the next few months, but there are two more expansions planned for this year, so that won’t last too long.
If you’ve been engaging in all the game offered over the past few weeks, then you should have about five packs waiting to be opened right now to start you off, and you’ll get three more when you log in. Also, if you win 10 standard games, you can get the new Rogue hero, Maiev.
The only real downside is that right now the authentication servers are being hammered, so good luck getting online for the time being. Gives you plenty of time to read up on what the expansion has to offer.
