Hex Entertainment announced yesterday that their free-to-play CCG, Hex: Shards of Fate: would be freeing itself of its previously publisher, Gameforge, and going at it alone.
This won’t mean much for players, and the servers should just now becoming back up after a quick migration from Gameforge servers to Hex’s own. When you log back on for the first time after the servers come up, you’ll have to agree to release your account info from Gameforge in order for the Hex servers to transfer the data over, and certain aspects of the game”s mail system, notably the to/from fields (attachments will remain unaffected) will vanish in a puff of privacy smoke.
But after that, prepare for an era of self-publishing. You can read more about the transition right over here.
