It only took the death of the studio that developed it, Boss Key Productions, for LawBreakers to finally go free-to-play.

The only downside?

When September 14th, 2018 rolls around, the game’s servers will be shut down. but for the next three months, the game will be free-to-play. In-game purchases will also be disabled for the game’s remaining lifespan.

Better late than never, I guess? LawBreakers tried to avoid the free-to-play stigma when it released last August. Maybe if it had been F2P from the start, it would still be alive and kicking.
