Nexon announced this week that they had to let some of their people go. They didn’t name specifics, but sources deep in the industry say that it was about 1/5th of its US workforce.

Nexon had this to say:

“Unfortunately, this means we had to let some people go, but the numbers do not represent any significance to our overall workforce.”

Considering how large Nexon is outside the US, the fact that they only let go about 20% of its US numbers means that it’s probably only a fraction of their total.

Perhaps LawBreakers was affected, but we really have no way to know for sure unless someone speaks up. That game, however, has been in steep decline since basically the moment it released.

Gameindustry.biz originally broke the story.
