The Battle Royale genre is growing beyond comprehension, and Epic – as one of the first purveyor’s of a BR game in a post-PUBG world – is feeling this firsthand.
Fortnite Battle Royale is the most successful thing that Epic has ever done. Paragon‘s success pales in comparison. That game, by Epic’s own admission was “not large enough to achieve mainstream success.” They weren’t sure if they had “a good path to grow Paragon and make it thrive.”
Another reason is that in order to help keep Fortnite running smoothly as it continues to grow. Now it had boasts over 45 million registered players.
So things will be slowing down for Paragon, but Fortnite Battle Royale seems to only be heading up. You can read the full open letter on Paragon’s subreddit.
