    Elsword online

I really liked Elsword online, it had a similar feel to Latale, although it had much better graphics for a side-scrolling game, and more group dungeon aspects which I felt were great.

    Great Game, Bad Community/Publisher

I played this on one of the Asian servers and I was hooked for a month or two until I quit the game. So the bad first... The updates were just too slow to roll out in the server that I played and the community was pretty bad. I think the community includes the publishers/game moderators as well and they were no better than the community. No update means the level cap remained the same for quite a while, so a lot of players were reaching level cap and were grinding for items to use or sell already so that meant that meant a lot of players were just playing to get items. This means they had no disregard that they have party members in their group and would just go and rush levels leaving the inexperienced and slow ones behind going straight to the end of the level without leaving any mobs for the others to kill. The cash shop wasn't any better as well and the trading was just the worst with overcrowded selling areas with players peddling their items as well as highly fluctuating market prices which means the expensive item you farmed today will just be something worthless the next day. This is mostly driven by trolls selling a rare item for cheap and a lot of people following suit thinking that was the standard selling price.

Now the good... The Graphics are nothing to write home about since this is a 2D side scroller but It's got pretty great gameplay. I played Grand Chase before and since I quit that game have been looking for something with a similar feel and I found that in Elsword. I loved doing combos and PVP is heavily skill based, very exciting and feels rewarding when you win. It's just too bad that the gameplay by the bad community and an incompetent publisher.

    Fun to play; annoying grinding

As many MMOs, at first its really fun to play and the variety and story is great. However, later on it gets boring because of not only the constant grinding, but the difficulty of getting a party. Many times I had to solo maps later on because not enough people were playing that map. Also, in the areas where you're not in dungeons, some people are really rude and steal your kills and follow you.

    Good game, bad shop

Elsword is the kind of game I wish I could play. It's a 2.5d side-scrolling dungeon beat-em-up with constant updates to maps and characters. The biggest downside, and the one that stops me from playing the game, is that the shop just feels so pay2win. Costumes give bonus stats (which do affect pvp unlike BnS), you can pay for a second skill bar, which doubles the available options in combat, you can pay for mounts, which can help clears in the early-mid game, etc.

It is a really good and fun game, but I feel like it is sort of lacking in the thrill that I like to feel whenever I play the game compared to GC. However, it makes up for it with excellent graphics.

The elsword is a Hack and Slash game with graphics 2d ,
the game play change much in the new revamp, now you can use all skill of characthers and when you increase the level of your character can upgrade the damege of your character, the gameplay
it is simple spam skill and basic attacks, the pvp is
different because you have to know how to use combos
to cause great damage to your enemy
but the truth sometimes feel that is a little unbalanced,
If your enemy have a better equipament than you can feel the great damage and could you die quickly
the community is good but not much, when you want to get special equipment, not many people doing the dungeons where you could take

if you want to play this game , go ahead but my view has changed too , I feel that to become very pay to win.

    GrandChase Remastered

Elsword was my go to game after GrandChase. Its an anime chibi game style. Dungeon based game, it not a bad game but not a great game neither. It start out pretty cute i gotta admit lol. Anyway its either P2W or grind the hell outta your butt to rise to the top.

    Feels nice

The graphics dont really live up to the regular kind of details you'd normally expect from a game. However the anime style is very nice and it does give a nice touch. I really did enjoy playing this game, but it didn't really feel like I was achieving anything.

    2.5D side scroller

The biggest issue to me is that even on max video setting this game have really blocky edges, I had to mess with my graphic card settings to get satisfying results. Except that the game is a creation of a celestial being, gameplay is almost perfect for this type of game.

    New improvements.

I have played this game for quite a few years. I then stopped playing for a while. This game is currently getting new updates for the characters and gameplay. Though you do have to spend quite a lot of real money on cosmetic items. So far, the game is very fun for people who like anime side scrollers. :3

Great if want to grind and be satisfied.

In my honest opinion, I think that Elsword is one of the best anime mmo rpg I've ever played. The game involves a lot of grinding through dungeons and leveling up, but I think it's all worth it.

Graphics - The graphics to this game is either hit or miss. To some people, this type of art style doesn't suit the 'reality' kind of taste and is very much 'chibi-like' and 'anime/manga themed'. In my opinion, the art style is colourful and the world of Elsword is overall wonderful to look at and feels somewhat pleasing. It's an original art style that should be given more credit for. It does have it's ups and downs because some people just straight out do not like 'cartoon-y' styled games.

Gameplay - The gameplay is definitely not original, but it's unique in it's own way. I like combo type games so maybe that's why I like the gameplay so much. Elsword in particular catches my eye because of how satisfying most of the combos you can perform are. Even the skills are satisfying when you just field wipe the monsters and see those big damage dealing numbers on your screen. Sure, it takes some time practicing and memorising your character's combos, but once you have mastered the combos then you will surely be satisfied. The creators of the game recently updated Elsword and Season 2 of it has started. Providing more content for the game. This, of course, very much excited me. They revamped all the choosable characters and changed the way you played with them to make it seem more exciting and more original by getting rid of skill points and allowing you to gain more skills by simply leveling up (you are allowed to upgrade your chosen skills in two paths though).

A few flaws to the gameplay is that grinding could sometimes just really get boring and killing the field monsters could get tiring too. Elsword requires you to be dedicated if you want the reward at the end of the tunnel. It's quite a medium-lengthed game that could be finished in about 1-2 weeks if you dedicate your days to it. Once you hit end game, you can begin PvP'ing for a long time and the PvP is actually quite interesting because the people, who choose the correct skills and memorised their combos, have a better chance of winning.

Community: The Community somewhat feels quite empty to be, to be honest. The guilds that are created are sometimes very inactive and do not do a lot to do other than allow you to have useful skills in dungeons and what-not. The Community isn't 'awful', it's just quite empty and inactive (coming from a person who had been in several guilds). I think it's one of the biggest flaws in Elsword. If you can convince a friend to play with you then, of course, that's the problem solved.

Summary: The graphics are a hit or miss and whether you like it or not is entirely up to you. Game play is very much grinding dungeons and killing a lot of stuff but, in the end, is satisfying if you dedicate yourself to it. PvP is also pretty great. The Community is quite empty but there are some guilds that do participate in the many events that happen in game. Convince a friend to play Elsword with you so that you can grind together and just do a bunch of it together so you don't get too bored.

I recommend the game, Elsword, highly if you're into the hack and slash style and grinding of games.

A cute 3d attempting to look 2d sidescroller mmorpg

It's free which is a huge plus. It has simple gameplay. The graphics are good for the style they're aiming for. I'd recommend playing with people you know in real life or a group of people you've played other games with online. It can get boring quick playing with strangers. I actually haven't been on it in a couple months.

I Always Come Back to It!

I started playing Elsword in the year 2012. At that time, Chung had just came out and I didn't even know how to play. Now in 2016, there has been a lot of changes. Major revamps all the time, numerous characters, and sadly the economy just gets worse every year. It's a 2.5 dimensional game with the graphics not bad at all for being an anime inspired game. The gameplay is VERY FUN with numerous classes and specializations, but the community kind of ruins the experience for me. It's not total trash, but there are only a few lucky gems in the game with the rest of the people being asses. Other than that, Elsword is pretty solid and running strong! PS: If you find a lucky gem of a person, don't lose him/her. I've met my best friend on there and it's been 4 long years! :)

This game is funny but it's community is very poor :(

This game is so funny, and the graphics are okay, but the community is very "empty". This game have a lot of potencial, and it's really funny. I bet you to give shot. In this game, you have a lot of things to do, you just have to look for something interesting, like train, enhance your equips and more.

7/10 in my opinion. I recommend this game for everyone, but this game isn't funny for everyone, tho.

    Elsword Review

I started playing this game a while ago, and I easily put over 500 hours into this game. Without saying, this game is super fun and addictive. Now for some info, the game is made my KOG which is a Korean game maker. The eastern games are a LOT more grindy than Western games that are basically shoot em ups. But! There are ways around the grind. By buying your stuff. Now by no means are you forced to buy anything to play the game in PvE, but there are some items that require you to use real money to get costumes WITH stats on it. In PvE, it's fun. In PvP, it's P2W.
I spent a little over $300 on this game and honestly regret it. Not to mention the community was pretty lucid.

    pay 2 win

Elsword has a really nice graphic if you like that anime stuff. The interface was reworked and I love it. There is no character custumization and all classes have a determined gender. But you can buy some for real money at the cash shop later but there are only differences like another sitting or standing pose.
The cosmetics in this game make the game popular I think. If the cosmetics only were cosmetics... the avatar-sets/parts you can buy give addtional socketing places and effects. You can style up ur character very nicely if you like to spend the money on it. If you say u are not the kind of guy who buys cosmetics I only want to get stronger... forget it there is no way to become as strong as a paying player because the upgrading scrolls for weapon and armor are too expensive to save your money for. Besides buying your equipment is expensive as well. And farming is almost impossible because the community always want you to have a certain standard which makes finding a group very hard. Although this game is made for children from 12 and above it seems like u have to be a good payed adult. Leveling is no problem in that game because you always can level with the drop from monsters and reaching cap is easy. Conclusion: You can play it but pls only pay for it if you can afford it.

A rinse and repeat pay to win game.

This game is made for weeaboos and little kids. The game play will literally give you a seizure for it's flashing lights. The way they did there quest is really BORING you have to do the dungeon around 5 times to complete one QUEST and it's so reptitive and the powers on the characters arn't even good people just get on this game for the cosmetic items to make your character look like this weeaboo trash god thing that is really corny and cheesy graphics are really bad it's a side scroller and the gameplay is very simple linear.

Elsword : An initial garbage that became a candy of a game, but garbage of community.

Elsword is the game i absolutely love and adore. Even tho its PvE is very boring around lategame (lvls 60-70-80), its PvP aspect is what draws me towards the game gameplay-wise. If i had to choose one of the best fighting games in the period from 2010 to 2015 - i would say Elsword. Whole pvp goes around 2 simple mechanics : manabreak, and knockdown rate. Knockdown is a thing, that prevents infinite combos. Every attack gives a certain number to invisible KD gauge, and when that gauge is full - enemy becomes invulnerable for a second and falls to the ground. Mana break forces Knockdown to happen at the cost of at least 100 mana. and since this game is based around main buttons (Z,X) and active abilities, the amount of combos every player can create for themselves is pretty ridiculous. Yet, the game became sort-of balanced only right now (because they made all of the characters OP), and before that it was just a clusterfrack of some popular people showing off cheap strategies and everytone using them without using their brain (Noblesse's Soul sigil spam, etc.). And if you want to ask me why i gave only 1 star to elsword's community, it is because NA (the server i play in) has, THE WORST, community of all the servers. You wont find more salt-filled tilt machines anywhere but on NA. People are mean to everyone, egocentric, and practically do anything to look like an a-hole, because thats "the rule of cool-kids-club". I have tried out KR Elsword and difference is so much bigger. Its,like, playing 2 different games. Economy is not dead, community is not as toxic, and yet to be encountered a case of " OP abuse".
And you know what? i still return to NA. You want to know why? I will give you an answer: Because its all about the fashion.
Elsword - the best barbie game world has ever seen.

    that's a fun game

i'm not a big fan of reviews but after i saw the giveaway on mmobomb i think why not and elsword was on the beginning of the page then lets go.
Elsword is an very interesting free to play game the history is funny the bosses are sometimes hard and the bandits are idiots the soud ar ok and the gameplay is very fun the control is precise and the skills are crazy, but not everything are roses on this game the levels are boring because you need to complete the stages in each dificult but if you have friends playing with you with skype, discord or whathever you use to comunicate with they you can ignore this, well you can ignore almost everything on this game because is fully make to this, about the servers i cant talk because i played on the level up servers on brazil then i cant talk about others servers
well in the end the note are:
    NICE GAME!!
worth to play this game, but only if you have friends to play with you.
the game become very boring when you play it alone.and even with the issue of repetitive stages the game can become quite exciting

sorry if my english aren't easy to understand. :v

    A fun anime style RPG!

I am a fan of elsword online, from it being animeish and plus its pretty much fun playing the characters you can pick in the game! Its just like grandchase and I am glad I found the game as well.. from grandchase closing down and such. I like you can pick three classes form the characters you can pick. This game is really fun with friends too because I had fun playing it with my friends! I am not a big fan of hack and slash games either, but this one I pretty much enjoyed playing.

    A Beautiful Experience

Elsword is the spiritual successor to Grand Chase, and much like it, it's an arcade-style beat 'em up RPG. It's fast-paced in both PvE and PvP, so be wary of this if you prefer the more slow-going experiences. With classes and characters galore, you are sure to find something, or someONE, to catch your fancy.

    It's Alright

Elsword is an. . .interesting case, if you've ever played Grand Chase then you know exactly what you're getting into. For those of you that don't know about Grand Chase, then Elsword is a 2.5D Hack-and-Slash RPG. At the start of the game you will be able to pick between several characters who each have different class paths and use different weapons, fairly generic stuff. The main draw of the game is the combo system. Unlike other normal MMOs, this game allows you to string together combos as you see fit, there's no set combo pattern for each class and each class has several combos.
Elsword has two different "modes" to speak of. It's dungeons are scenario based which you can enter with a a party of up to four members. The dungeons are you're standard 2D hack and slash experience, you run to the right and beat monsters along the way, eventually coming to a boss that has a special mechanic of some sort. When you're not in the dungeon, there's a FIeld area, basically the over world and how you travel between towns. Originally the field was just a place to enter dungeons from, however with the introduction of Season 2 you can now encounter monsters and field bosses. Fields are also much larger and more expanded upon, even having quest specifically for fields.
PVP in Elsword is probably it's draw for most people. The PVP in theory is a balance of skill, generally relying on players to outplay other players, which is true to extent. However, the PVP is HEAVILY pay-to-win, the Cash Shop equipment will give your character stats such as HP, damage reduction, damage, etc. The PVP is so imbalanced that sometimes it doesn't even matter how much you outplayed your opponent because the opponent has a class that can just lock you out with combos.
Overall Elsword is a fun game to start. However as the game drags on you begin to see its flaws. The gameplay is fun initially but there are only so many times you can hit two keys in a certain combination and if you want to get seriously into PvP, you need to invest heavily in the cash shop, which, by the way, has limited and permanent items. If you want a short and sweet game and don't care about PvP, then this is the game for you.
