    To OG of MMORPG

I played this game until it closed down in my country and asked us to join iRO.

The best MMO i played countless days of just fun and laughter with my friends and even new friends i met in the game we even have an Eyeball events.

Some of my friends found their wife or husband in this game so this game hold a lot of memories even hearing the Prontera Ost and you can even hear those blacksmiths pounding their hammers and it brings tears to my eyes.

    Graphics
Ragnarok uses a cartoony or anime-ish style of graphics with 3d for the towns and environments.

    Gameplay
Ragnarok is one of the OG of MmoRpg so this is really old school (stand there and kill dodge and block are in the stats) hearing those crunch sound of critical hits with my Assassin Cross is fun.

If you read the first part then you already know that community of Ragnarok the community is helpful to newbies and also us high leveled players help lowbies and even gave them items to start.

The sad part of Ragnarok are the botters it's like in the end days of Ragnarok Online in my country i think a large percentage of the players in-game are just bots T.T

    Utilizing the rpg genre

The only game in history to fully utilize the online aspect of role playing
    games in my eyes,

There was a vast amount of pathways you could take through job classes and their transcending forms, as well as multiple ways of individualizing character and ability stat builds, each build would impact the gameplay of the player noticeably.

The world map size is impressive providing thousands of fields and dungeons to quest on with uncountable amounts of mob types and variations along with a powerful boss system titled MVPS. The depths of items and their capabilities with different builds is so various that some items can only be obtained through mass efforts.

On top of all that the RO community loved to embrace the true rpg mixed with online dynamics and immerse themselves into epic pvps and guild wars once a characters had set of on dedicated journeys.
The game became open source and private networks for filled the ro community to this day, official server players would support private networks constantly reminded them of updates and other hidden parts of the game.

    Retro at its finest.

Retrò in the real meaning of it, because this game is really old, but it's really something that made school even for some of the games outside now (especially the upcoming Tree of Savior).
This game might get the old players, with its retrò soul and the not at all easy gameplay.
It might look a bit confusing, it doesn't bring you by hand during your experience, but the deep mechanics gets along with the easy gameplay, keeping the charm this game had and will always have.
Charming, friendly and that even with this old graphic will make you smile if you grew up with the old consoles. (one of the first things that comes in my mind is Alundra)
You never tried or heard of Ragnarok Online? You've been inside a cave.

This is the game that got me started on MMOs

This was my first MMO and probably the MMO where I spent the most time playing. I started Ragnarok Online when it got a local publisher in my country and they gave out free CDs for the game in internet cafes. I was very excited to play this because I was into anime at that time and there was a popular MMO anime at the same time Ragnarok became available to play.

Perhaps it's the nostalgia, but I think this game is really good. It has a unique look to it with the 2d sprites on 3d environment. The monster and NPC designs look great and the world map is huge and each individual map is unique with it's own theme and monsters. Over the years it added so much content when compared to when it was in beta, so I think a new player would not get bored with all the content it has right now.

Unfortunately, this game has been plagued with bots. Game masters regularly ban bots but they just come back with new accounts. It's not really a big deal unless you're the type of player who likes to bother/talk to random people in random maps while they're leveling. Most human players are in town anyway.

It's still a great game, with great gameplay, content and music, though the graphics may be outdated when compared to newer 3d MMOs nowadays.
