When the Pay 2 win plague strikes

I've played ZMR since they had the alpha. I even downloaded it when it came to steam and to this day I have over 360 hours recorded just on steam. I have to say the game HAD a lot going for it in terms of combat mechanics, maps, and modes. Even the community was very warm and welcoming. Players would offer to help each other out with maps in the PvE mode.

There wasn't much shaming or scorning that would occur. Content was being pushed out often, the Devs were communicating with the community daily and they would even do streams where they would play with players in the PvE modes and the PvP modes. The leveling system wasn't to hard nor was it to diffcult. You could basically get most things that you needed with just grinding "Bullets for the gallery at the shooting range" (Which is where you would randomly get items which ranged from turrets, guns, costumes, card arts, etc. It really depended on the type of bullet you got. Silver, gold and platinum were the different variants).

Then the devs decided that they were going to use ZMR to fund their other popular game Tera. Small microtranscations started appearing slowly. First it was a couple of non important dlcs that gave you costumes, some guns, and bullets for the gallery nothing special. It slowly turned into the fact that you could buy all the over powered guns that use to only be available through grinding and all the extra items that normally you had to grind for. Then they added more content which introduced new systems that were specifically made so players would drop money to get the better versions of each (drones and mechs).

Which changed the game almost completely. The challenge factor went down. Players started to quit, leaving trolls amongst others who shame other players. The devs didn't care what so ever. They just kept adding items and content to give players reason to pay. They would sprinkle in a map or a mode here and there but that's it. Which is sad because the game itself was fun. It was very Gears of war like (both in combat and clunkiness). They also shut down servers so now on the American version of this game there is more of a Southern American population then North American which is a turn off due to the lagg factor and the miscommunication between players.

I recently just got back into doing a game on there and there because I had friends who went back and even now with all the equipment that I have the game itself isn't as fun as it use to be due to the community (I have basically all the guns except the new ones). I do not recommend this game to anyone unless they want to drop a ton of money.

My score: 6/10 (Only being generous due to the fact that I use to love this game)
