The Secret World originally released nearly 5 years ago, way back in 2012, but in merely six weeks, it’s relaunching as Secret World Legends, a free-to-play online RPG that changes much of the original game.
The video above does a good job of detailing what to expect, but the basic gist is that now, instead of an MMORPG, the game is a story-focused online RPG. Instead of a huge, persistent world, the game is transitioning to something with hubs where you’ll find lots of players, and then you’ll be able to form groups to go adventuring in instanced, story-driven experiences.
Combat is being shifted to something more action-oriented, too (there will be a reticle!)
The game will launch with much of the story content found in the original game, but for some stuff, such as raids, you’re gonna have to wait a bit. You can read more about the game on the official site, where you can also sign up for the beta.
