Wargaming announced this week that they were teaming up with VRTech to found a VR-focused outfit, cleverly titled Neurogaming, to lead the way in VR projects for the developer.
Based in Nicosia, Cyprus (while most development will be taking place in Moscow), the new developer already has 75 warm bodies ready to make their first VR project – a World of Tanks VR spin off.
Their goal is to create a location-based experience, similar to an arcade. Wargaming has plans to expand the endeavor into Europe and the US this year.
World of Tanks mastermind, Slava Makarov, said the following in a press release:
“Moreover, unlike any other developer, our biggest aim is to change the experience from one-time involvement to a long-term engaging story with co-op and competitive elements. Working with the Word of Tanks IP and creating an experience for its 180 million community is a massive and exciting opportunity for us.”
